100 shot hurting my tranny?
Will my tranny go bad on a 100 shot? Not going to spray often mostly for the track. When should I have the rpm switch cut off...at my switch point or right before it? Will this help the tranny at all?
I lost my tranny the second day I got my car home from the shop (MTI). I had everything done at one time. I sprayed the first time off the line on the street and smoked 3-4 gear. MTI took good care of me. They towed my car and got century to rebuild. Haven`t had any problems since. You can see in my sig my numbers! Good Luck!
Not really. The extra torque and heat produced by the nitrous is what will kill the tranny. The extra friction produced by the torque will heat up the parts causing them to slip and fail. A tranny cooler and deeper pan will help a lot in that there is more fuild and having it at a lower temp. The best solution is to have the tranny rebuild with the correct internals to handle the extra torque.
my 4L60E is hold up fine with a 100 shot. i did break a driveshaft though. i also have a 3400 stall and a transgo stage 3 shift kit.. the b&m tranny cooler really helps.. keeping yuor tranny cool is the ticket to a long lasting tranny..
