Default Dual stage or progressive controller, which is better?

I know a progressive controller has more flexibility as far as controlling the flow of nitrous from the driver seat and the fact you have more options. However, it is more expensive than a dual stage, and I've heard a rare horror story about progressive controlers harming solenoids. NX claims their controller is the only one on the market that actually sprays a full 100% at max power, and that others don't actually allow for a true 100% power shot of nitrous.

The dual stage from what I gather has no side effects, is cheaper, and the second stage can be activated at the push of a button, so you have the ability to spray more when you want, versus a controller which sprays at a pre-programed level.

Opinions? Which should I consider and are there specific brands I should look at? It should be considered that I can get the NX controller or any NX products including dual stage at cost.

I personally use NOS products but this is my preference. I DONOT like progressive controllers they beat the seats out of the solenoids. I use or build dual stage kits and use time based relays to control the kits.

Verbs, as you have already pointed out, the PC gives you more flexibility vs. the pounding of the solenoid seats as Madman mentioned. The advantages are more user comfort than sheer statisticals. With the PC you can keep from shocking the snot out of your drivetrain, can only do that with the 2 stage to a degree. It is also easier to change around "intial" spray and overall quantity with PC, but it does take a little bit of math. Barring personal preference, the choice is yours and should take into consideration the desired end result. But if you can NX at cost vs. other brands-thats spells a winner to me. Good-luck.

So if you hit it from a roll, will the PC still go through progression? Or can you set it to give it a full shot??

Depending on maker and model, you should be able to bypass PC and hit it straight. Good-luck.
