Default Bottle heater question...

I left my bottle heater on last night...(hardwired to battery) and my battery is dead now. My brother has my keys with him so I can't get in to turn it off until later tonight.

So if the battery is dead, the bottle will not heat up will it? I just remember seeing a pic of a guys Mazda who left his bottle heater on all day and it blew his car up.

Umm...I'm not going to blow my car up am I?

Well, you should have a blowdown tube to vent the pressure outside of the car if things get too high...

And I'd have bet that your bottle would have blown long before your battery died if you left it on all last night. I'd just be careful messing with it later today...

Yeah that is what I thought too.

So you think I am safe? I was considering calling a locksmith...because my brother is not getting back until later tonight. (out of town)

When I put my bottle in my car I had it on the back deck in direct Texas sunlight during August. I hadn't had a chance to put a blowdown tube on it yet and the gauge pegged the underside of the needle stop!! I almost had a heart attack when I saw that, and was a nervous wreck unbolting the bottle to get it inside to cool off. Just felt like sharing my dumbass moment By the way, the bottle would have vented the pressure before it blew up.

The blowoff safety valves let go at 3000psi. Every bottle come with one. That Mazda guy sound like he blew it once and then stuck a regular pipe plug. What an moron! I am using a bottle heater kit from SpeedShop.org. It is automatic by turning on below 900psi and turning off at 950psi.
