how big of a shot with factory fuel sysytem?
I have an '02 hawk, with some bolt-ons-- headers, a mass air, ram air kit, etc... I just got the nos 5177 dry kit. What is the biggest shot i can use with a factory fuel system?
125 is the HIGHEST I would go on a 5177 kit. I spray a 100 shot, and it gave me 9mph in the quarter. That was before all my other stuff. In my opinion, 100 shot is good for a dry kit.
I run mine with no jets. About 150 rwhp with no issues. But I do run 100 octane and I have to max out my MAFT. Good luck!

I am running an open solenoid with a ported maf and a TR224/114 cam and have had no problems. Except my clutch feeling like mush. It gave me 12-13 mph in the 1/4.
I run a 100 shot with the hotcam and bolt-ons with the stock fuel system and 31-32* timing @ 6500 and have no problems. Im a little rich and only run good gas (no Shell or no name) though. I am upgrading to a 255 pump and bumping up to a 125-150 shot and pulling 4* and leaning it out some. We will se how it goes
The other guys I know around here run 125 on stock fuel systems all day and 150 with the 28.8 injectors.
All the 150's look good and strong! around 500 ft.lbs of tq with headers and a lid! This might be on the edge but it's working. I would recomend getting rid of any ported ends and sticking with a stock de-screened MAF.
Try the 100 shot first, then you'll creep to the 125's and if your happy stay there. But Don't go past a 150 dry shot (just my $.02) If you feel a need to go larger go to a wet kit.
Good luck!
