First, where are you trying to put your bottle? If you go to any NHRA sanctioned track, the tech probably won't pass you if you do not have a blowdown tube....

You do not have to use the tube 'as-is'. NHRA requires that the bottle have a blow off valve in which the gas is vented outside the car. I am not using the tube. I am using some -8an teflon hose that goes from the blow off valve to a hole in the trunk compartment. I have had no problems with tech inspection

You could leave it capped off if your track doesn't check for it, but it's always a good thing to have just in case. What if you go to a different track some day? I'm also wondering where you are trying to mount your bottle. The problem with the 5177 kit is that the bottle is too damn big. The only place mine would fit was the trunk. It's easy to mount the blow down tube in the trunk.

Well, even if you could pass tech, if the valve popped and dumped 10lbs of nitrous into your car in an instant i know i would regret not having a blowdown tube.
