Default yank ss3600 with nitrous

I can get a good deal on a yank ss3600 from my buddy with 1500 miles on it, I am doing a battery relocate with a stand alone and am going to spray a 150 shot. I was wondering if that converter will work well with that setup?

It will work well on nitrous. What are all of your mods at this point?

A lot of folks are using a ss3600 (excluding myself, ss4000 here) for nitrous.

Plenty of info from this by using the search feature also.

The reason I asked is because if you plan on heads and cam later you might want to go bigger. As shortdog has posted, he has a 4000 and it still works well on the bottle. Not that the 3600 won't work on the bottle but IMO a 3600 will be too small for a healthy head and cam setup.

I ran a 3600 with heads and cam and it worked well on motor but was a beast on spray because of it being tighter. A 4000 would of helped it on motor but I don't know if it would of coupled like that 3600 did on spray. Maybe shortdog can chime in and give a run down of what it pulls like on the back half of the track.

Ok, thanks, no H/C in the near future, probably just converter and spray for a couple seasons till I decide what rout to go, h/c or possibly stroker.

Did not find what I was looking for then started thread then searched again and found some stuff so my apologies on my lame search attempt

I went 9's with a cam and ss3600 converter on a 175 shot. I sprayed all the way up to 250 on it and it seemed to do pretty good.

That's what it's made for!! Tight as hell on motor and and still fairly tight on my 100 shot. I am going bigger cam and heads so time will tell. Hopefully I can get it dialed in before my one free re-stall expires. I have 3.42 gears, cam and 100 shot currently.

Default Nos wanna be

Hi guys new to Ls tec but not new to the sport, hope I don't get kicked out of here sense I have a LT 1 with LS 1 24x PCM. I just purchased a 3500-3700 circle D converter, I asked him about nos and he said the 3600 ish would respond like a 4000 with the added torque, don't have my nitrous purchased yet, was wondering how much I could go safely and if a direct port was worth the extra work?

You would want to make your own thread so as to not hijack this thread.

To answer your question though, sky is the limit with a direct port, or until you blow the motor. A plate shot will allow you to get pretty big with the jets but you have to have good tuning knowledge and read your plugs to make sure you are not running into distribution issues.

Yes that converter will work good for nitrous. Guy locally here has went mid 10s on a 6.0 with that converter on a 150 shot and a custom grind cam from Martin at Tick.

i went with a 3200 fti . i was leaning towards 3600 but they told me for what i was doing and my setup 3200 would be a good converter. but to each there own. as long as it feels good and dont blow thur u should be fine. my car is light and ls3 if that makes any diff.

Yank 3500, 3:73 rear, auto shifter, 125 shot. Just make sure it doesn't kick in until 2nd gear. I still broke loose on the hit with Dr's. I have a shift kit so it kicks pretty hard on the 1-2. Hang on & enjoy.

Waiting to spray until 2nd gear is a waste of nitrous. The harder you can get out of the hole on spray the better your et will be.

+1 on that, spray soon as possible assuming traction permits
