Default so how lucky was i??

Ok i bought my first ls1 camaro about a year ago an its full bolt on, cammed an dyno tuned an make just under 400 to the wheels. With in the first month i had a buddy of mine sell me a huron speed wet nitrous kit. Dum me i didnt do any research an just put some colder plugs in it ( think tg6's they were called) an ran 8 gallons of 110 mixed with 93 when ever i plained on playinv with it. I NEVER got it retuned an i went through 2 bottle. I went with a 75 shot for a wile then a 100 an put in the 125 for only one run.. my question is, how luchy em i that i never got a back fire. Cuz dont they advance the timeing when they tune for a cam? An with nitrous they should take timeing away.. car ran awesome when u hit the no2 lol

When my car was tuned for my cam the engine liked 4 deg less timing than a stock ls tune. This still dosnet mean I wouldnt need to pull timing or atleast datalog for knock and AFR if I were to run nitrous. Id say pretty lucky in your case.

Ok thanks. An ya after picking up the internet on my phone a wile back an doing some searching i found out i could b running my car way to lean with out tuning an havening the risk of the intake backfire. I only hit the 75 shot a few an then the 100 once or twice then the 125 shot 2 times, never let the bottle pressure drop below 800.. ive heard of ppl putting the 75 shot on cammed cars an not tunning just doing the plug change an never haveing problems. Not saying its smart or the right thing to do but.

I doubt you ran it "way to lean" seeing how it was a wet shot. There are a lot of people running 75-100hp shots without pulling any timing. Not sating that is the smartest thing to do without putting it on the dyno but they do. Was the 110 leaded or unleaded?

I believe its unleaded. Its the 110 race fuel out of the pumps at BP by my house. An do u think running just a 75 shot would b fine? Ive had it on the car for almost a year an only hit it a few times. Its not like i go to the track an spray it 50 times a month. An the car only has 54k on it so not to high miles

Cuz if i can get awayvwith just a 75 shot or 100 with out retuneing then i woild b happy. I just dont use it often enough. Only as a (just in case) button. As in just in case the other guy is faster lol

My car was cammed and had no timing pulled and I ran a 100 shot for a long time with BR7EF plugs and a wideband to tune AFRs

Lol ya i called a local engine builder thats big into LS power an he said i should b fine but dont go over 100 shot, run the 110 like i have been, dont spray under 3800 rpm an make sure the bottle has plenty of pressure. He said just spray an pray! But then he told me if my motor ever goes he can give me a killer deal on a stroker kit lol so guessng hes just wanting some business lol

That small of shot I dont think its a issue. I ran a 200 shot on my forged motor with a wet kit and c16 in stand alone without any timing pulled on br7s. Thing rolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllled out. Just have to keep a eye on your plugs! Now I have bumped it up another hundred or so and pull 6 with a lnc seems to like it.
