I used a Grant steering wheel #673
Grant #3196 install kit along with a #5196 kit (needed the 1" spacer from the 5196 kit)
cheap plain Grant horn button #5899
B&M spiral cord button #46003
I also have a second spiral cord button for the linelock, just haven't installed it yet.

It's not a plug and play deal for a 4th gen. I had to shim the install kit 1/8" and trim the end of the column 1/16"-1/8" to keep the adapter from rubbing on the column.

Yes I just used a washer, I could of ground down the adapter cover instead, but adding a washer was quicker. You will have to piece a setup together, no one makes a plug and play bolt-on kit to work with stock column. Burkhart Chassis has a steering wheel kit for aftermarket quick release column.

Use a regular 1/2" washer from a hardware store. I used one I found in my garage. You don't have to get both the 3196 and 5196 kit, but you will need a spacer/adapter to go between the 3196 install kit and steering wheel. I bought the 5196 install kit because I liked the spacer in it. Or if you like the polished aluminum use just the 5196 kit. I didn't want polished so I bought the 3196 kit because of the black adapter cover and painted the spacer from the 5196 kit black.

There is no plug and play setup for this you have to mix and match. Grant make several different styles of spacers, and wheels. Several different companies make the small buttons to fit in the steering wheel. Look around Summit or Jegs you will see different color, width, and style spacer/adapters as well as buttons, and steering wheels to choose from. Install kit 3196 or 5196 are your foundation

first, thanks for all the help, forgive my ignorance, im still a little lost.. if i get both kits, i will still need to shim it with a washer, however what if i were just to get the 3196 kit and not the 5196 kit? then what else would i need? it looks like the 5196 is just the metal piece to make everything look flush... am i wrong

Which ever kit you get you will need to add a washer between base and the base cover so it wont rub or bind up on the column. Or you could grind down the column and adapter cover so they don't rub together to avoid adding the washer. I chose to add the washer because it was quicker and easier than grinding.

If you buy the 3196 install kit you will have to buy a spacer/adapter, because the steering wheel can't bolt directly to the 3196 kit. You can use the 5196 kit without having to buy the 3196 or any other install kit, because it comes with the adapter. The 5196 kit is polished aluminum and I didn't want that so I bought the 3196 for the black base cover and ended up painting the spacer part black.

What steering wheel do you have in the car now? if you have steering wheel controls for the radio you can use those buttons for the sleeper look.

No I didn't take any pictures during the install. If you bought the 3196 kit and Grant wheel #673 then yes will need a adapter. Some steering wheels come with the adapter that goes between the 3196 kit and steering wheel.
