Quench for nitrous

What is the optimal quench for a high nitrous application (400-500hp) aluminum block. I know N/A most shoot for between 0.035-0.040. I think I've head higher for nitrous 0.050-0.60 but not sure

For that much I like in the ballpark of .060", but your combustion chamber design will have a lot to do with what you want it to be.

So am I correct when I say you run wide for nitrous but tight for boost?

.080 or more for that much I would also have the chambers softened.
Not easy to keep them alive with 500 on it.

What exactly is softening the chambers? I'm going to have my heads milled but I know nothing about chamber softening?

What if I only ran a 300? Could I get away with a quench of 0.045?

It won't make or break you. If that's what you end up with, just run it. The tune-up will be a little more edgier, but it's not too big of a deal. The thing with quench is the more you have, the more it opens your tuning window.
