Default Race Fuel ?

I have a 2005 GTO ls2 I/H/C/E mods with a stock bottom end. I just installed a nitrous plate kit and was wondering what is a good unleaded race fuel to add to 93oct to help prevent detonation.

Gulf makes some pretty high octane unleaded race fuels.

i know u said unleaded. and ms109 is what most of my buddys run in their cars with nitrous.
i have a standalone and run 112 sunoco , cause thats all i could get before going ot the track and bought 5 gallons. so far its seemed to do well. i dont think it being leaded hurts anthing cause . it a pretty good mix of unleaded 93 and a small amount of leaded.

as soon as i find some ms109 local im gonna go to it.

I was under the impression that the leaded fuel would harm the O2 sensors?

I have a VP dealer right by my house!

I didn't think leaded fuel would hurt my O2 sensors, unless I drove it all the time. But one trip and day at the track, 20 miles one way, killed them. I bought the leaded gas because it was a lot cheaper than the unleaded race gas.

i wouldnt run alot thur them but ive ran mine alot of times with 5-8 gallons in the car orginal tank and put 2 gallons of 112 in there and then the 112 in the stand alone. thats probably the strongest id go. they say the aem wideband is super sensetive to leaded but mine hasnt gone out yet.
a 20% mixture u shouldnt have a problem but u never know. but if u got a vp dealer. get u some ms109

but keep in mind that running leaded can harm them. i know the coyote guys have a big problem with leaded fuel taking theirs out. but most of all my buddies and me run leaded and been lucky so far.

Honestly, the MS109 is some pretty harsh gas. We've had experience with it swelling pistons in the solenoids, and causing problems with the o-rings and seals inside fuel pumps, and it even causes damage to some metal components. If you're wanting to use race gas with your nitrous, I'd recommend getting a dedicated and using C16. Even though C16 is a leaded fuel, it's used in such a small amount that it doesn't cause any problems. It's also much easier on the o-rings, seals, and solenoids.

Years ago this was the same issues with the MR oxygenate fuel for superbikes! This is my fear!!!

On my bike I would run a 60/40 blind of 93 / C16 with a 50 shot of NOS! No issues worked great! But there was no O2 sensors on those early EFI bikes!

What about Sunoco 260/GTX 98oct unleaded?

If going with a VP fuel you might look at their Unleaded Extreme... it can be mixed easily with normal 93 octane. Plus is has an motor octane rating of 110.

Default Sunoco 260/GTX

I purchased some Sunoco 260/GTX 98oct unleaded "all sensor" / O2 sensor /o-ring/gasket safe race fuel.

This fuel rocks so far!!! Just drove around town and did a couple of pulls car feel insane with better idle and throttle response!!! Very Very Happy with this fuel + 1 on this fuel
