The website says the 58mm LT1 plate will not work with a Summit throttle body. Does anyone know what the problem is?

 

We have had problems in the past with those throttle bodies pushing the IAC too far forward into the thermostat housing. Keep in mind, when you install a plate, it'll push the throttle body out another 3/4'' or so. Most all of the throttle bodies for the LT1 require some grinding on the thermostat housing in order for the plate to fit, but the Summit throttle body pushes too far forward to clearance the thermostat housing. The plate was originally designed to work with the BBK and similar style throttle body.
