Possibly blowing through the converter.

Not that making a motor pass is not a good idea just as a double check, but he doubled his shot and lost 5MPH. A few hp on the intake changes is not at the root of this situation for sure.

Yeah because something couldn't have got jacked up during the swap. What was I thinking trying to rule out something as basic as that. Carry on.

Something is off....

If it was the converter it wouldn't lose 5mph even driving through it. Mid the race weight is the same it would just cross the stripe at more RPM.

Going from a 150 to a 300 is a big jump, I'd bet it's off on the tune up. Especially with having to reduce the fuel jetting so much....

We left the fueling tables alone in the tune. The only thing we messed with is the timing pulling it back to 17* and the timing strap was right at the bend. I have a stand alone fuel cell that I tune with that has a pressure regulator

Dont always go by the "Timing mark around the bend" belief. Only way to tell is to pull or add a degree and see if it goes faster or slows down.

But your issue is more than that. I don't think you're getting enough nitrous. Was the system flowed and blueprinted? I can't believe that -2 is enough to flow for a 099 jet. 1/8" tubing is 0.125"OD leaving less than 013 for wall thickness. You said you are running an 046 fuel jet when it calls for an 078..... thats almost 2.5 times less area of the jet....

Something with this is majorly off... be very careful because you're probably close to hurting the engine.

It can lose 5 mph blowing through the converter. I sprayed a na 4500 stall converter with 150 and it picked up pretty good, sprayed 300 and the car ran slower than with the 150 shot. It actually bent there fins in the converter. I even drove it home from he track still and caught hell trying to figure it out.

After re-reading about the jets he running I agree though I don't think it's the converter.

We added 3 degreese and it went the same mph 130.

Went to the track today all on a 150 shot.
Car went 127mph at 10.4 1.4 60'
On motor it went 11.9 at 115.

Both passed were same tunes. Running 24* and about 12.3 afr

If you add 3º on a 300 hit, and see no change... something is wrong.

127mph to 130mph from 150 to 300.... something is wrong.

Not trying to be a dick, but you really need to take a good look over everything, twice or three times over... Ive burned up enough engines to know youre in the danger zone.

Lol yup, I read plugs on new tunes and make sure it's safe. Blew up 3 engines this year 2 due to too rich and too much timing. Don't know what else to change in the engine
