Default Difference in lengths of siphon tubes

Old Setup was running 10lb bottles with NX Lightning 45 valves. One was the new style (smooth ****, no push port) other was the old style. (palm lacerating ****, push port)

I upgraded to two of the DF5 valves, and the siphon tube is significantly shorter than the other ones. I confirmed that the valves were for a 10# bottle.

Is this intentional-- Anyone from NX able to chime in?

Another interesting find: The old NX valve has a much smaller siphon tube than the new one. What is the max flow on the old style Lightning 45 valves?

Here is a pic showing the difference. The angle of the pic makes it look like they're not aligned- they are lined up from the flat surface above the threads.

It is intentional.

The DF5 valves are designed to support large amounts of nitrous. To draw that amount of nitrous through the siphon tube, it cannot be too close to the bottom of the bottle.

Also, if using the DF5 valve for larger amount of nitrous, the shortened length wont really effect anything. It would have issues if youre trying to spray the bottle dry, but when using 300+ worth, bottle pressures will get too unstable when theres less than 4-5lbs remaining in the bottle.
