Default nitrous?

I am thinking about getting a nitrous kit for my mostly stock WS6. I was wondering if nitrous is safe for my engine and if so, what shot should I get? My car is a daily driver and want the engine to last a long time.

100 shot is more than safe. for a little extra fun go with a 125 or 150 and ull still be good. My friend had an LT1 with over 150k on the motor and he was running a 150shot all day, Still has the same motor and is still running a 150 shot on it... (its been over a year and over 30 passes at the track) Ull be safe with anything under 150 but to not risk anything stick with a 100 to 125 shot. Have fun spraying.

I ran the NOS 5177 dry kit at 125hp for two years on a stock motor.

I'd recommend a Nitrous Express EFI Kit with the Gen X-II Upgrade Kit and an MSD Window Switch. Nitrous Express is an industry leader in the nitrous game. Their products are the best on the market.

As far as the size shot goes, you'll probably be happy with the gains had from a 100 shot, but if you're feeling gutsy, it wouldn't hurt to up to a 150 shot. Anything above that and you're looking at octane higher than 93 and at least a 155lph fuel pump.

Another thing I would recommend is a Timing Tuner Box. It allows the user to keep a tune that's aggressive for 'motor' and then when the nitrous is sprayed, it pulls timing out. The user can decide how much timing to pull out, which will depend on the size shot you've decided to spray. The general rule is 2 degrees for every 50hp worth of nitrous.

The cost of the NX kit, Gen X-II, MSD Window Switch, and Timing Tuner box is generally close to $1,000. Check out www.nitrousoutlet.com for the best deals on NX products. Nitrousoutlet.com also has some top-notch customer service.

You'll also need new spark plugs. I recommend the NGK TR6's. You can pick those up at your local auto parts store.

Enjoy...

How often did you spray during those 2 years?
