Default Unleaded Race Gas options

Quick question. I have previously run a forged LS402 with 300 shot on a plate in a 3850 llb car. Car ran 9.60s at 140-142 mph. In that combo I used C112 and non-projected #10 plug. I am going to a new set-up for this year. New set-up is SHP Steel LSNext with 4.155 bore and 4 inch stroke with Compstar forged crank, Lunati Pro Series I-beam rods and custom Nitrous Pistons. Rings gapped for 350-400 shot. 6 Bolt Brodix BP BR CNC LS3 heads, custom Martin Smallwood spec cam 246/262 at .629/.612 and 115+4 and Morel 5206 tie-bar lifters. Running 1 7/8 headers and twin 3” cut-outs off the headers. PB Black Edition 4l60e with billet shafts and Mark Williams 12 Bolt with 3.73 gears. I also upgraded to a N.O. Direct Port with my plate available as a 2nd stage. My plan is to run a 350 shot and shoot for low 9’s!

Question is I was running C112 leaded race gas in my main tank and my dedicated. With the bigger shot I will be stepping up to C16, however, I’m wondering if there is an unleaded race gas that would get the job done. I still street drive the car and it does have cats when cut-outs not open and the leaded has fouled the Oxygen sensors.

Maybe VP Unleaded Extreme in the tank with something like C23 or NO2 in the stand alone? https://vpracingfuels.com/product/unleaded-extreme/

Default Thanks!

Thanks! I read up on the various options on their site. It seems like the Extreme or N2O would work, however, I still get a little anxious about going from something I know and have experience with (Leaded fuels) to something I have no experience with (unleaded race gas). I think I’ll phone them and find out more and then let everyone know what I learn. Thanks again!

watch your unleaded stuff as some of it is oxygenated and will change your tune up.

We're talking about a 350 shot. Legit race gas at the upper end of the motor octane spectrum is a must. Something that "might" raise the octane a few points (and I'm skeptical it does even that) won't cut it by a long shot.
