Max compression with spray

Default Max compression with spray

So heres the deal. I have a sbe ls1 currently with 243 heads unmilled. 250 shot. I wanna buy prc 225 cast heads. Should I run the 62 cc version or there 68cc version.

my gut says get the 68cc to keep the tuning window on spray happy. Your thoughts? I' on 91 pump with a dedicated and c16

Is this gonna be a dedicated nitrous car or mainly a n/a setup?

My opinion raise the compression. Nitrous works well with higher compression. It won't necessarily be more "difficult" to tune, will just require a bit more fine tuning. You fuel, timing, plugs, etc... that will all be more important to closely monitor with the higher compression motor.

Your 243's are right around 64 and a half cc's and plenty of guys shave their 243's and run pump gas. 62cc's is fine. While you're at it, I would recommend switching to VP NO2 as it's a nitrous specific fuel. You'll need to retune with the head swap anyway. Now is a great time to switch to a better fuel.

There is no max compression but piston and head design are going to dictate how big or small your tuning window will be.

Default NOS Ignition Timing

Hi SF, cylinder ignition is very related to the "heat" of the compressed gasses in the cylinder AND as we know NO2 is very cold when changed from liquid to a gas removing Latent Heat from the cylinder.
We know a NO2 filled engine cylinder requires a lower Spark Instant due to improved combustion quality.

My answer would be better know if YOU STATED your planed Squish Distance ?

Your planed final C.R. ?

YES, your "dual fuel" system is very good for knock resistance.

Example : Race fuel often has FOUR Grams of lead per gallon AND when mixed with pump (4:1 ratio) will raise the Research to 100+ ! ( 1st GM of lead = 8 points)

For the sake of clarity, NO2 is not nitrous.

N2O is Nitrous Oxide,
NO2 is Nitrogen Dioxide,
and to help maintain the confusion (Yes, I'm being sarcastic), coincidentally VP Racing Fuels has named one of their nitrous specific blends "NO2".
