Any Help For A Newbie to N2O??
I have PMed Nitro Dave and asked him a few questions.. I just want to know from others what is required for a beginner to the N2O.
I have read threads and threads and heard of Timing Tuners, Window Switches, Purge Systems, Delay Computers, Retuning your PCM the list goes on and on.
My truck is a daily driver that sees limited track time. I love the instant HP and TQ increase when I need(want) it but without the hassel of driveability.
My question to you is what is required to run a safe and reliable N2O setup with a basically stock motor? Money wouldn't be a consern if it will be required or save me from blowing my engine. I have been considering a Nelson PCM for N/A performance but would this affect my desire for N2O??
Any info from the board would be appreciated as you all have real world experience.
Thanks,

- go with NX. keep it simple like a single nozzle kit or something
- I dont run one, but a FPSS would be recommended
- Fuel pressure guage and nitrous pressure guage on the A pillar
- get a window switch
- get colder plugs
- not required, but nice would be a purge kit, bottle heater, bottle blanket, quick release brackets
- you wont need to pull timing until you start spraying a larger shot. I ran a 125shot w/o any tuning for two years just fine
(i am sure I am missing some stuff)
nitrous is like crack for your car, once your spray you will be hooked!!!
A couple of questions I still have left... coming from the all throttle no bottle camp... are nitrous kits really that reliable?? I mean 15-20K miles down the road am going to have to do a rebuild?? My truck only has 25K on it now and I don't want to have a rebuild coming up anytime soon. I know all HP/TQ mods causes stresses but is N2O really safe for street use? I read the posts and listen to the words.. love seeing the times and mph at the track and would love to jump in on this BUT I don't want to be throwing $ after $ to fix things that go prematurly.
Sorry for the questions guys and gals butI am on the fence and trying to make up my mind. Also being I have a truck and see very limited track time.. is this more of a "yea I got juice" kinda thing or will I really be blown away and start being a juice junkie??
