Default New to the nitrous world - have a few questions

I recently picked up a car that has an old HSW wet kit on it. It had a fogger nozzle but I switched that to a plate. It came with .028 fuel and .052 n2o jets installed. Has the HSW microedge as well. The system seems to work but of course I want to up the Jets.

I've been reading about pulling timing via the IAT or the coolant sensor. Most threads/diagrams are dead links. Which method is preferred? I dont have the ability to tune the timing with HP or EFIlive.

Is there a general rule of thumb to pull "x" amount of timing when running "x" shot? I've been reading stickies all night. Feel free to educate me.

If you have no way to pull the timing, then this will not work for you. I would suggest picking up a lingenfelter timing retard box to control the timing pulled. Makes it very simple.

2 Degrees per 50 shot of nitrous. For a 100 shot, depending on fuel, you may not need much of any timing pulled. For example, my Z06 only needs 2 degrees pulled for a 100 shot on E85, and by the plugs, I could probably put some back in it, but it will be nothing I will really notice. Every car is different though. You will want to learn to read your spark plugs. Pull your timing, make a pull and shut the car off at the end of the pull (immediately after, or as soon as you can). Determine the air/fuel first is good, and then creep up on the timing. Best bet is to only bring the timing in at 1/2 degree increments. For a 100 shot or less, I would suggest a BR6EF NGK plug.. For anything over that on a SBE, I would suggest a BR7EF.
