Anyone using propane these days? Found a few threads back in 2012, but nothing recent. BTR and the viper guys seem to have great luck with it. I've been playing with it on a minibike. Popped the top ring land initially, pretty sure I butted a ring (unopened engine). I've gapped the rings way out and have a solid 10 passes on it now. Seems like a fun combo for a 100% HF engine. Its like going WOT twice, lol. basically a 15hp shot by my math.(13/24 jet) Had the WB02 on it and all. Got me thinking about building a setup for my car as well. Seems like propane would distribute through the manifold better, have higher octane and burn cooler and cleaner? IDK. Suprised there isn't much else on it if it's such a good cheap easy method?
11.3ish down low and 12.2 at peak RPM on the nitrous. Very similar AFR curve without the propane enrichment on. Using a 22mm Mikuni carb.
Test Rig. Using a lipo RC battery to power WB02 and solenoids.
Test Fit
Bat. setup with breaker. "GO BABY GO" button!
Bottle filling station.
18 seconds I go WOT 21 seconds hit the button. It's like getting to go WOT twice! Roughly a 15hp shot by my math.

Those are 1/8" OD poly lines. Common on many direct port motorcycle kits.
Don't watch pressure
Go by weight on the bottles.
With such a small shot they last quite a while. I just make sure to keep them fullish b4 weekend races. I need to drop the shot down more. I'd like to get a solid 5hp shot in there. Completely guessing for the most part with jetting. rely on the WB02 to keep me inline. A local sprays his dry with a 20 shot on e98 and just jets it extremely rich.I need to richen my jets up. I nipped the top of the piston ring land off. Back to the drawing board!
