Default NX relay wiring question

I am wiring up my new NX MAF kit and have a question. Should the power source for the Relay be a switched 12v or just 12v? In the installation instructions it says "12v to battery", which would not be switched. I have a fuel safety switch and window switch, which determine the ground state of the relay. With the ground off when it is not being used I guess the relay won't be pulling any juice from the battery, right? Therefore, it is not neccessary for it to be switched?

Also, the instructions give two different versions of wiring the Window Switch. One has it using a switched 12v and the other just 12v. Does it matter which? Will the window switch kill my battery if it is not switched?

Thanks in advance.

Grab it from the auxillary power source under the hood. (unswitched)

for main power, put your window switch on a switched wire.
