Where are all of the BIG power N20 setups?
I have seen all motor dynos hitting 590s and I have seen alot of FI dynos in the 650 to 800 range. Where are all of the big power N20 setups? Am I just not seeing them or what? 650 to 800s would be nice to see. It just seems to me that the N20 section has stopped putting up numbers. I know they are out there.
P.S. I will dyno my small cam 408 with juice the 21st and let ya'll know what it does. I also know that dyno numbers are not everything.

its can be a challenge running big shot nitros as it will require leaded gas... VP N20 Racing fuel is 120 octane...
i will let u know how that goes sometime next year. for now i will be 13.8:1 CR on my 409 and and 200 shot... probably still gonna need leaded gas as it is.

I will try to run a 200 on pump gas with TR7s and alot of timing retard. I love my juice over my blower. I totally believe that 225 or 250 is possible with pump gas and two stages and a 10:1 motor.

I don't know. I think my little stock bottom end engine does well on nitrous. Heads/Cam - stock bottom end hasn't even been opened. 1.42 60', 10.56 at 125mph. With tire and launch resolved, we'll see how close I can get to 9's on stock bottom engine in 2 weeks when the track re-opens. Oh yea, only 150 shot

Are people getting enough power out of a 150 shot and just stop after that. Maybe it is the people I work with but, it seems like the LS1 community has just got started on juice. These guys spary 200 on the street and on pump gas. They are spraying 600 to 1000 on big motors, ranging from 572s to 706s, and I know there is a difference between race cars and street cars.

I think the problem is people making big numbers with FI or NA combos understand what it takes to make power. Most people doing nitrous are doing something closer to "plug it in, hope it works".
383LQ4SS has got the right idea. He's ironing out all the details trying to get it right. That's what it takes..

My stuff will finally be done this month. My goal is a 450 shot running off 2 stages. That should put me about 850-900 at the tires. Of course my 6 speed tranny may have something to say about that.

Mine never made any power. It barely hit 147 MPH through the traps. I'm completely disgusted with it. Oh wait, it did make very good power now that I remember correctly. I just never spent a ton of time turning my car into a dyno queen. The engines are out there. But it takes a while to get everything to come together with them. For most of the guys that run the higher speeds, many of us don't really post a lot of HP numbers up. That's the main reason why you don't see them.

Also, unless your engine is above 15:1, VP NOS may be a bit too much for you. Try C16 instead, or even a little lower octane and it works just as good. I talked to Wade a while back when ARE ran the silver Z, he never ran anything higher then 115 octane. I want to say it was something like C14 or something, but don't quote me on it.
Most of our cars simply don't run the compression required for VP NOS to break down effectively. As cool as it sounds to say you use the stuff, you'll likely loose horsepower with it under most conditions.

Good call, n20 cars are hard to dyno anyway with converters and the instant hit, its over very fast!
I run 110 in my car with around 11-1 cr, but may need a tade more because my n2o fuel will be out of my regular fuel cell, not a seperet one.

Brad, tell me about it! Harlan is gonna be real tough to catch! I'm considering solid roller on my next setup because it seems like that's the way to go.
My 9.40 time was on a 300 shot. When the car goes back to Cartek they will be putting in the 400 jets and we are going to see how the car like it. If it holds, we will jet up again and again until it doesn't go any faster or it blows up.
JS, right now there is no cage in the car. I sold the old 6pt to get ready for a full 10pt certified cage. It will be in by the end of September.
Hopefully with the extra nitrous and the removal of ~250 lbs, I can get her in the 8's.
