Default How does your system know when...

Please excuse the ignornat question but on the basic NOS 5177 kit how does it know when you are done making a run? At the end of the 1/4 mile do you have to throw a switch or something or does it just turn itself off when you lift off the gas?

Also what happens if you don't purge the line before you run? If it decreases the effectiveness of the N2O wouldn't that kind of be like having your own progressive system? It would come on easy out of the hole and then hit hard midway down the track.

with a dry kit a purge kit is mostly just an expensive fun toy. you might lose some power without purging the line with a dry kit but it would be negligible at best.

as for your question regaurding when the kit shuts off...technically you state this is an ignorant question because you dont know the answer? wouldn't that make all qestions ignorant then? its a good question...alot of people don't understand...when you let up off the gas, the wot switch shuts off, which in turn cuts off the nitrous. If you are still going WOT through the traps (which is what u should be doing) as soon as you let up off the gas it cuts out. or if you have a window switch it might even shut it off just before you cross if you make it to 6k rpms before the end of the run.

In the kit you get a Wide open throttle switch that mounts on a bracket which the throttle peice on the throttle body whenyou compress your accelerator the cable tightens and pulls that sunofvabisch back and when the throttle blade is opened all the way this piece sorta "bumps" the wot switch. when you wanna use the juice, you gotta keep the pedal all the way down to keep the wot switch activated.

hopefully that helps out some.

you can use the nitrous in the burnout box and that will insure you are purged
