just to make sure...

an MSD window switch can be run off the white wire from the pcm, correct? no tach adapter is necessary?

That is correct for my MSD digital window switch. I'd guess it's the same for the non-digital versions, but can't be certain without looking at the instructions. Do you have the digital one or the "pill" one?

haven't bought one yet, but was plannign on doing that today. Just wanted to see if I needed the tach adapter or not.

I was just reading a guy's ad for a window switch he was selling and he makes the following statement:
"MSD RPM ACTIVATED WINDOW SWITCH MODIFIED BY MSD FOR 5 VOLT SQUARE WAVE SIGNAL THAT LS1 VEHICLES HAVE"

What's that all about?

I didn't have to modify or cut anything to get the digital one to work.

Now that there is a digital one, it's pretty much obsoleted the "pill" version. And after you buy the switch and all the "pills" you need, the digital one is much cheaper.
