Default Bottle temp vs. Bottle pressure?

I have been told by someone that I trust that it best to use a bottle heater that uses bottle temp as an adjustment instead of bottle pressure. What is the real deal? Should the bottle heater be adjusting itself based on bottle temp or on bottle pressure? The one I have now reads pressure, but have not installed yet. I want to MAKE SURE this is the right thing to do before installation. Thanks

i run the NX heater (runs off of bottle pressure) with no problems. im assuming pressure would be the way to go, since ultimately that is what you're trying to control. im just assuming here, someone correct me if im wrong.

At a certain point bottle temp begins to BOIL the nitrous. I run 2 bottles(500hp shot) to keep pressure at 1000 psi at the burnout. I purge to 950. I also run my bottles 1/2 lbs low to give the nitrous a place to boil. I heat my bottles before a run at the trailor not in the car.

Since bottle pressure is what you are looking to raise with the bottle heater, it makes more sense to me that it be pressure controlled, due to the fact that the less nitrous in a bottle, the more heat it takes to get it up to a high enough pressure for a good shot. The pressure is the constant you are looking for, not the temprature.

I use a NX pressure switch on my bottle heater.

Different vendors rate their products at different pressures, NOS is 900-950, NX is 1000. I personally run mine at 1000 even though it's all NOS parts.

Pressure is the way to go on the heater.
