is the cigarette lighter a 12v source..i dont have a volt meter to check

where do most people draw their power source from within the car....something is wrong, everytime i flip the toggle activating switch, i blow a cig/acc fuse...i used the cigarette lighter as my 12v source but its always on, not activated by the ignition, please help

Not sure if you're asking or stating, but the cig wiring is always hot, that's standard. Sounds like you might have a wiring problem if you're blowing the fuse. I'd go back and double check everything.

 

You should use an inline fuse either way so that you dont keep blowing fuses in the box... and if you want a switched power source (one that is only on when the car is) tap into the light that lights up the change tray in the middle of the console.

 

Use the pink wire that goes to the tration control switch(even if you don't have Traction Control, the harness for the switch is still there)...it is a switched 12 volt source, so it is only on when the car is on. All of my nitrous accessories share the pink wire for power...Also as stated earlier get yourself an inline fuse...I had to run about a 25amp in mine to keep if from blowing.
