Removing MAF screen for Dry Shot
"For running a dry shot you should take the MAF screen out if you still have it. The MAF will report less air to the computer when on the bottle with it in than with it removed which will cause a leaner mixture when spraying. Why? I think it could be because the cold charge (remember, it reads velocity and temperature which both factor into how much O2 is in a given amount of air) doesn't hit the sensor wires in the MAF sensor as directly with the screen in. The more directly the wires are hit the more fuel is sent to the combustion chambers. "
Should I remove the screen in my LS1... please let me know ASAP. going to dyno the car on Sat and run at the track on Sunday.
HELP
Easy to do.
1-Just unhook the MAF
2-Unbolt the front end that has the screen (Allen screws 4)
3-Using both thumbs and thick cloth, push it out from the inside.
It is not very tight, it will come right off. Also this way you keep it in one piece and can re-install it if you decide to go back N/A only or wet.
Thanks...
