Turning of the timing tuner

Turning off the timing tuner I want to test the solenoids to see if they are working. I was told to push the accelerator to the floor to engage the micro switch and you would hear the solenoids click. I have the timing tuner on the car. It was set to turn on the n2o at 3500 rpm, so in order to test the solenoids, I turned both of the settings to 0's. That would be 0 rpms and 0 degrees of retard. So I would think the timing tuner is now disengaged. So I press the accelerator to the floor and you hear only the relay click now, but no solenoids. Now am I wrong or are they not working ,or is the timing tuner still stopping the solenoids from clicking. If I'm doing it right, then the solenoids are not working. I've used the n2o at the track twice now and have never really felt it kick in. What does anybody think is wrong.

If the nitrous is working, you will feel it. I have the timing tuner and check my solenoids 1 of 2 ways. 1) Close the bottle, start the car and rev it to the preset RPM and fully depress the throttle to activate the WOT switch. The solenoids will click. You only have to do it for a second. It will flood the car and the RPMs will drop, but if you do it quick it is not a problem. or 2) Pull the relay going to the solenoids. With the car off and bottle closed. I jumper the relay and the solenoids click. You can check them by putting a screwdriver on the top, when energized the solenoid will be magenitized. I usually use method 2. But method one also checks the WOT switch and timing tuner. Also be sure you do not have a delay programmed into the tuner. Hope this helps.
