Fuel system questions on wet shot in the S10
I plan on running in the range of a 150-200 shot in the near future when i get my project together and i was wanting to know what exactly you guys are doing fuel system wise on these size shots? The fuel cell i had to buy to meet my fitment needs only has one -8 outlet so basically im stuck either coming off the fuel rail or coming off the main line on a Y block. Either way im going to be pulling fuel off the engine supply and i was wondering if you guys have any problems with that on fuel injection or not? I know its a big no no on carb setups because you can lean it out by fuel starvation, but is this a problem on the LS1 seeing how it runs about 50 psi of fuel pressure? Im going to be running the Aeromotive EFI fuel system for 700 hp n/a motors thats on thunder racing p/n 94-17136. Just wondering how i would need to plumb the fuel side of the nitrous system and if tapping off the engine feed would be safe for this shot and fuel system?
Okay scratch that on the Aeromotive system, i done some reading on the fuel injection section and seems alot of people have problems with the pump. I saw a pic of a multi-port system from nitrous daves and it was plumbed off the rail...so i suppose that answers my first question. Now all i have to do is find a decent pump and i'll be set.
A real decent pump. I am using a A1000 on Gramps truck, y-ing it. I can go about 170 on the shot and it starts creapin up to 12.5:1. I don't like being that high on the afr when sprayin either, rather be at 11.5:1. I dynoed it today and started to lift the heads a little on the 2nd run, too much timing too hot. Its ok though they sealed back up ok. The basicly stock short block is getting tired though. She could have had a 10.3 or so in her early in the season but oh well, time to tear it back down and shoot for 9's next season. Have a seperate fuel system in the works for it.
