Default I started ordering parts today!!!

I ordered a new 6.0 block, and ls2 intake w/rails from Kris @ SDPC this evening. I also ordered a Eagle 4.00" stroke crankshaft and h beam rods. I am gunna wait a little on pistons b/c I might get a custom nitrous piston or I might just get the off the shelf 11518's which is a flat top w/ a 4.00 bore.

I am buyig a camshaft from a friend for now b/c I want to go with some hogged out AFR's and a pretty good sized solid roller this summer.

I wanted to have it going before spring break but it looks like its probably not gunna happen being that its only a month and some away.

well we are BOTH in the same boat. I'm in college and 20 also. This is just money that I made last summer that my dad held out of my pay check. Its about 4 grand and its gunne get me a decent start on my shortblock and thats about it. I want to run 11's for now and I'll be happy and then I can spray a small shot on top and be in the 10's which will be enough to hold back the upcomming croud around here.

Your underestimating yourself. You should want 10's with a 408 na and 9's on the bottle. A stock short with heads and cam should get you into the 10's. I just have to watch what I spend money on now cause I don't work as often cause of classes. Which suck.

Well I'm just going to port my stockers for now. I hope they flow somewhere in the 280 range I'll be happy and that should put me around 435-450 at the rear hopefully.

Damn Josh, not bad for a start. Wish you the best of luck man. Hell I need to decide on which route I want to take, FI or stay Nitrous...with the lack of Turbo kits out, might stay nitrous. I am leaning towards a 427 buildup after I get back from Afghanistan, either with a spray or a hairdryer which way to go???
Good luck in school to both of you.

Charlie

I might go with a s/c later but then a turbo is what I REALLY want but I am not gunna pay 7500 bucks for hot parts only and NOT be able to keep my a/c, b/c if I go turbo i'm going t88 or larger and preferable 2 t66's but thats not gunna be happening unless some1 actually wants to try to build it for me for cheap. I was talking to a board member over pms and he is building a t88 system for his car to where he CAN keep his a/c but of coarse its all custom stuff that he does and it would take a while to put it together and it wouldn't matter about the length of time. So I decided to go this route for now.
