Wet kits can sometimes give more of a torque spike on intial hit, but a dry certainly can be made to be comparable. I can't believe some still believe wet to be safer, for them, you should check out the swelling plunger threads from fuel additives. If you like wet, I also rec the NX Maf kit. A very trick set-up and easy to install. We have the NX products and many more. If dry is your choice then the PRO Dry kit from Nitrous Direct is our best. For a beginer in the n2o game a small dry is the easiest and safest, and later you can upgrade to wet if you like, or continue with the dry for bigger shots. Which ever way you go, please choose a sight sponsor. If you have any tech questions let me know, I would be glad to help.

Im going to get a nitrous kit at the end of the summer and im going to go wet.

what are the chances of gas puddling in the intake manifold and cause an intake backfire?

A bigger worry will be your fuel noid plunger swelling, and thus sticking closed, sticking open or in between. Either of the issues above will not/can not happen on a dry hit.
