Default Opinions please....

I hope this has not been asked before and I am just overlooking it, but here is my question. I have been leaning toward the TR224/112 cam because it is a proven cam and and I am just adding that and LT's and a LS6 intake for now. My goal for this car is for those mods to add up to about 360-385rwhp. I also would like a 100 shot nitrous to give the car some more power (but safely I don't want to tear anything up) when I have the occasional street/highway race. This car is a weekend toy and not intended for the track. I want the sound of a nice lope and I want a few extra NA ponies under the hood and I want to be able to flip a switch and have that extra 100hp in my back pocket. I have read/been told the TR224 cam is not a good cam does anyone have a recommendation on a compromise for this set-up on stock heads? Maybe a cam that will give me the sound/performance I want but also be better for the 100 shot. Thanks for your time.

Well I just found another thread here that says the TR224 is a great nitrous cam? Will somebody set me straight?

Judging from the specs I'd say no.
I'd vote for the LPE GT2-3 for an off-the-shelf cam to work well all around and with bottle.

The TR224 loves nitrous and has a nice little lope to it. HP range is just what you are shooting for. I say go for it.

that cam should fit your needs well, it's proven as you said to make n/a power in that range, and its very streetable. You might want to look into the tsp225 also, it makes a little more power a little higher, but just another suggestion. As for the shot you should be fine shooting 100 on that setup.

the TR224 is a great cam, nitrous or not. for a 100 shot, just about any cam is a great cam. dont worry about nitrous cams unless youre spraying over 150, that's the general consensus here. just make sure you get a good tune and verify your air-fuel ratio looks good and you'll be fine.
