A bottle pressure gauge would be a good idea for the future.

You could always check to see how much your partic. bottle weighs, than way your bottle, and see how many #'s it is. It will give you a real rough estimate on whether or not you have nitrous.

Also, if you jets are easily accessable, or in the lid, take off your lid and spray it when the car is turned off.

is there any other way?

I have the nitrous gauge but that just shows you bottle pressure with the bottle heater.

i.e. you turn the bottle on.. get 600 PSI then an hour later you have 950 with the bottle warmer on.. whats the real amount in the bottle?

I am confused about this as well.

I have all the goodies for the bottle ( remote bottle opener, bottle heater ) and it is mounted in the spare tire compartment.. so it is a bitch to take off and on. I hate to have to do that every time I use it

When the bottle gets down to the last pound or two it will take along time to come up to pressure, and it won't hold pressure long without the heater. You'll also notice a more drastic drop in PSI after a run. Like LS1Eater said keep a good eye on your gauge all the time. After awhile you can pretty much guess when the bottle is getting low. With my 15lbs bottle on a cool night, when it's full it can go from about 600-900+psi in as little as 15-20 minutes, when it's down to 2-3 pounds I can run the heater for over an hour and be lucky to see 900psi.

since you'll still have good pressure, it may appear you have nitrous only relying on a pressure gauge. The best way I've found is to use a purge. If the purge valve is open more than 2 seconds and you don't see a continuous stream/white plume, then your bottle needs refilled. Also make sure you're using a reputable nitrous dealer. I've heard of a few people getting stung with bottles 1/4 to 1/3 filled with air.

You'll get used to knowing really quick..... You'll learn the feel of your car, and when you feel it start surging with nitrous, you will know your bottle is low. If you have a heater, and you're up to optimum pressure before you run it, and you feel it "surging" a little, you'll know your bottle is low.....

You'll never run the bottle totally empty either.... You'll probably be able to feel a great performance decrease when the bottle has 3 or less lbs in it...

If you dont want to bust out the scale time will tell! Im just now learning to be able to tell by the digital gauge I have. When I do go to fill the bottle I weigh it everytime to see how close I really was to empty!
