Can the mounts be disconnect from the base? Down near the bottom where the arrow is pointing in this picture? Thanks.

 

No, the base is one solid piece.

 

I understand the base is one piece, I was wondering if the rings detached from it. From the looks of this one on ebay it does.




This way only the base is left sitting in the car when no bottle is there, not the empty rings.

 

Oh, I gotcha. You are correct. The handle and rings detach from the base and only the base is mounted in the car. The only thing that holds the handle in the base are the pins. Remove the pins and pull the bottle. It's very convenient. I just got mine and am going to mount it the next couple of weeks. It's a very nice setup.
