unusual check engine light after using N20 on 2004 GTO...
been running the 150 shot lately, having a lot of fun beating up on Mustangs, F-body's, SRT-4;s, etc...
right after the run (sometimes) I get a flashing check engine light for a minute, then it goes away. WHen I had the computer on it, it was setting a Fuel Trim Lean code (or something like that)...car would stumble, flutter, then bang, back to normal...I reset the code with EFI Live once, and this last time it came on, and went off by itself...
Has anyone had this type of issue? I wonder if it is specific to GTO computer/cars....
I am also wondering if the timing tuner I bought is working correctly...I have it set to use the rpm window switch from 3000-5900, and today when I was playing around I was able to activate the nitrous at 2000 rpm at part throttle (I have it wired without a WOT switch for now, I just turn it on manually after I hit WOT and go above 3000 rpm, until I get the bracket for the microswitch in)...I played with it like this before and it wouldn't activate, wondering if the timing tuner is screwed...I have on on my Camaro and it works fine, BUT I bought this one used....
ANy Input???

what that means is that the fuel mixture is damaging the catylist and will cause premature failure of the cats....but dont worry the cats have a 8 year 80,000 mile macufature warranty on them if the go bad or be come inefficent, the check engine light will come on and code p0420 will be stored.....dont worry about just means that to much fuel is getting into the cats....
Flashing SES is a misfire I believe. Sounds like you are either too rich or too lean. Pull the plugs and be sure you still have electrodes. Also...get evertyhing wired up correctly so the window switch is working and you have a WOT switch operational. The get to a dyno and make some pulls with the wideband on it.

just sent my timing tuner back due to the same issue as you.
J
I may send the timing tuner back as well, it kind of scared me that it surged at 2000 rpm when I flipped the switch..
DRY SUCKS MONKEY ****...wet is the only way to go!!!
I will wire up the WOT switch as soon as I get it and will put it on the chassis dyno to check AF ratio...I figured it is probably rich not lean...the code had something to do with short term fuel trims I think...I will also check plugs this weekend, it is idling a little rough, but then again I have TR6's with gap at .038...
Thanks for the input.
