Default New to Nitrous

Hello. I have a pontiac gtp 3.8L supercharged. When discussing performance options with my mechanic, I told him I wanted to do a cam, rockers, dhp pcm, and nitrous.l When I mentioned nitrous he asked me if I was trying to kill myself. So I guess that rules out nitrous. But I'd much rather do n20 than go into my engine and change/alter the valvetrain. Can I safely run a 55 shot of nitrous on this engine, and what can I do to make it safe, if it can be made safe, that is.

Current mods-u-bend delete, cai, 3.4 supercharger pulley, cold plugs, 180 thermo

Thanks!

Default nitrous

Also, If I get nitrous. I will get a blow-down valve to relieve extra pressure. It will be wot controlled only. What else do i need to make my nos setup perfectly safe, meaning, I don't want to blow my engine if purchasing safety equipment could've prevented it. Although, this all depends on how confident i am after someone presents an arguement for nos that i mentioned on my first post.

Thanks

Start learning, because knowing what you're doing is the best safety device that you could have. All of those other add-ons will not keep a fool from his fate.
There's no reason you couldn't add nitrous to your engine as long as you set everything up right...and I don't mean safety features. Do a lot of research first. Running bottle on top of boost requires you to know even more about how to manage the engine.
Being able to scan test runs, and make tuning changes is the first place I'd start before throwing the bottle at it... that is if you want to stay on the safe side as you said.

I agree with above. Also, you may want to find people who have run nitrous on that engine already, that way you know what others have run successfully (Personally, I have no idea if your motor can handle a 55 shot or not). Good luck!

I'd recommend a new mechanic.
