Default Can an Eagle 408 hold a 200 shot safely?

Hey I am looking buying a 408 now, and I was wondering if I do the TNT f2 system, a 408 with an Eagle crank and Eagle h beam rods and diamond nitrous pistons with duramoly rings can hold a 200 shot without a problem. I would want to do a progressive two stage system, of coarse it would have a fpss, WOT switch, all the goodies. Also would does anyone have a 246/250 cam in there 408 or does anyone know what cam I should go with? Thanks for the help!

If my stock bottom ender can hold 200 shot, your 408 should. I'll put one carification on this -- if you have the after market fuel pump, injectors and a damn good tune.... I would also advise on a good rear-end, suspension and tires.

NO problem

I run 40 LB SVO injectors on mine for a 300 shot. I think you might run out of fuel with only a 255 supporting it, to close for comfort for me.

Here's the injector formula. [Injector size=bhp x bsfc (usually .5) / No. of injectors x .8 (duty cycle)] So, with your stated 493hp plus 200hp shot = 693 expected hp, You get: 346.5 / 6.4 = 51.14 min injector size for a dry hit, and 246 / 6.4 = 38.51 min injector size for a wet hit or for N/A.

Eagle rotating kits are rated at 1,500 RWHP, and I believe that. There are countless turbo Mustangs making 1,000RWHP+ with basic Dart blocks, ARP studs, and Eagle rotating assemblies. That Eagle stuff is impossible to beat for what you pay for it.

Too many people buy 347's/382's/383's/408's/427's/434's and just have to have the high-dollar Lunati pieces, but skimp on what really matters, the induction system. If people would spend less on the shortblock and more on the induction system, we'd be seeing a lot more 550RWHP 408's and 600RWHP 427's and 434's

The Lunati stuff is very very good, but unless you plan on building a race-engine, it's simply overkill. A lot of people are aware of the potential balancing problem with the Eagle cranks. They sometimes require a few pieces of heavy-metal to properly balance, and it generally costs $50 per piece of heavy metal, which adds up quickly. If you're worried about that, or if your machine shop would prefer to not take the risk, go buy a Callies crank. They're super strong and and they're a good $$$ middle ground between the Eagle crank and the Lunati crank.

Just one persons opinion...

So Lunati is better than Callies? I thought it was the other way around.

My motor holds a 250 shot easy. Im quite sure a forged 408 will hold a 200 shot.

I don't know which one is stronger, but the Callies cost a lot less than the Lunati.

The point is to try to save money on the shortblock (Use Eagle/Callies instead of Lunati) and put the money saved into your cylinder heads.
