Default Independent Fuel System??

Hey guys,

I ordered a 2 gallon fuel cell and an Accel #74701 fuel pump that does not exceed 45psi and flows 43gph for my nitrous system.

Do I need to run a regulator w/ this pump? My fuel jets are for EFI fuel pressure, 43.5psi.

Also, how long should 2 gallons of fuel last me, say w/ a 150hp jets?

Would it benifet me to run 104 octane unleaded fuel in the cell?

Thanks,

Dont know about the regulator. Im running a low pressure system on mine, 10 psi, and I run a regulator. Its nice to be able to adjust if you need to. Im also running a 2 gallon tank and Im running a 200 shot and it will last quite a while. I havent filled my tank up since I first installed it and I have been through 2 bottles and still have 3/4 of a tank left. It would benefit to run higher octane fuel in the cell, I run 116 octane in mine.

150hp will use roughly 76.76lbs, of fuel per hour. So lets say you spray for 10 seconds. .213 lbs. of fuel got used. Gallon of race gas 6.750 lb x 2 13.50 if you filled it up totally. So you should be able to make 63 passes if you ran the tank dry. Not really practical, but you can see you can make alot of passes. One big problem will be, if you do not use the gas up in a short period of time the fuel will go stale.

Ughh never thought about the fuel going stale when I filled mine up damnit. How long is it going to take for fuel to do that?? I need to use all mine up but I have no reason to go around and spray the **** out of my car all the time.

Fuel only goes bad if it is vented to the air, or in direct sun light for long periods of time. You do need to keep a little in the tank to make sure it keeps all the parts a little wet, and so you can cycle your pump from now and then so the vanes do not get stuck. I would make sure you keep a seal gas can for your good fuel. Keep it in there until you need to go have fun.

I know a guy that is running a Holley Blue pump w/o a regulator and his works fine.

Just trying to make sure this 45psi pump will work w/o a regulator.

I guess as long as you have a gauge and know what the pressure is when its on for sure you wouldnt need a regulator. I would just make sure you know exactly how much pressure its running so you can jet accordingly.
