Default major ZEX kit problem

just got my dry kit installed on my LT1 and got the bottle filled yesterday. Last night I tried it out, and when the nitrous is injected, the car basicly just starts sputtering and you can feel the nitrous working, and then stopping... just surging and not having a constant flow. I also hit it from a stop once... and the car backfired really bad, and my service engine soon light came on right away... I thought I was without a motor, but it's still running fine but now I'm afraid to try it again. My intake duct elbow is ripped a little on the bottom... that's the only thing I know that's wrong with the car itself...

What type of plugs are you using? I am not sure about the LT, but in the LS1 you need a copper plug in the Ngk tr6 range, also gapping the plug is important. Also if you have one, check your fuel pressure safty switch, it might need a little adjustment.

would bad plugs cause it to run so bad under spray?

And don't think I have a fuel pressure safety switch

if you dont have a colder plug, it would have somethign to do with it, for the lt1, you definatelly wanna get a colder plug, also your optispark ignition could be shitting out too.

I'm 99% sure the previous owner put in nitrous plugs when I had the old NOS kit on it

Meaning have to put in a new optispark?

should've kept the NOS kit. a new set of plugs is cheap. if you don't have a fuel pressure safety switch (fpss) you NEED one.

NOS kit before this was doing same thing... so I thought it was a problem with the kit itself, but it must not have been.

plugs are cheap, but not fun to install

everybody really think's its plugs on a car with 30k miles... and like I said I'm pretty sure the plugs have been changed for nitrous

sounds like a bigger problem than plugs to me.. What rpm are you spraying at? are you trying to spray with that hole in the intake tube? have you checked for proper fuel delivry? Maybe your pump isn't strong enough, but it definately sounds like something more than plugs

I thought it sounded much more serious than plugs also, espically how it just backfired so bad when I was at a stop using it. I have been spraying with the cracks in the intake elbow, but just ordered a new 1LE elbow. That would be nice if that was the problem, but I wouldn't think it would be since the car runs fine w/o spray. How can I check for proper fuel delievery. I guess I thought the system would be fine with a fuel pump booster. There's something that I've noticed since adding that though that seems a little strange, whenever I rev at night after the RPM's drop back down, blue flame comes shooting out both sides of the exhaust?

wow, found the problem for sure I think

I took out 3 plugs... 2 of them completely had their tips broke off, I don't even see how they were getting spark! And they ended up being the stock plugs... previous owner lied to me about having nitrous plugs in it...

Yup, I understood what you said.... I was saying it's almost funny that I was that close to destroying an engine but ended up just having to replace plugs.

Got the new plugs today... thanks for everybody's help.
