Default BMN tach input wire problem...

I'm hooking up my BMN window switch tonight and in the instructions it says to find the ground for the tach input for the w.s., well there are 4 wires going into each coil and with the key in "run" I find 3 grounds and one 12v wire.

One other thing, which wire do I use for the brake switch? Any easy explanation on this one...

which wires do I use?

Under your hood above your PCM you will see a big cluster of wires that plug into your PCM. Find the WHITE wire (tach wire) and splice into it insted of the coil.Maybe you can find this WHITE wire under your dash?

At your brake light switch you will have two wires, ORANGE(battery power) and LIGHT BLUE(switched power), splice into the LIGHT BLUE(switched power). Or probe each of the two wires with a test light and use the one that is not hot (do not press brake pedel while doing this).

if you go to any gm dealership, they will print you out the wiring schem for your computer, If I am not misstaking it is a white wire, on the pcm pin ten on the red connector, pin ten is on the bottom left hand row, you'll see numbers marking the pins when the connectors are removed, you'll see 1 20 21 40 on the bottom row, count over ten and you got it. also brake switch is pin number 33 and it is a purple wire on the blue connector. good luck pm me I guess I can scan it and email it to you if you need the scematic.

well I did what u guys said...mine must be different.

the bottom left row...I count over 10 and there is no wire. I believe PIN 44 is white but I don't want to tap into the wrong wire. there is a white wire on the top left row...PIN 10, is this it?

The purple wire on PIN 33 on the blue connector for the brakes...no wire.

where is this brake light switch u talk about?

The brake light switch is under dash activated by brake pedel. Look for the switch with ORANGE and LT BLUE wires attached.

Do a search "TACH WIRE"
