A Couple Electrical Questions...
When you guys are wiring into a switched 12v power supply what exactly are you doing (tapping into existing wires, splicing wires, going to the fuse box, etc).
Same question for the tach signal for a window switch.
Can you use the same wire for multiple components (ie. tach signal for a window switch and shift light or switched 12v for arming switch and wot switch, etc)
Also, do you guys uses wire taps, butt connectors, solder?
I came across this wiring diagram and it seems simple enough. Does it look correct to you guys?
Thanks in advance for everything!
Yes you use the same tach wire for window switch & shift light.
You can use the same 12 v source for multiple items as long as the total amperage draw if ALL items on that circuit do not exceed the amp rating of the fuse protecting that circuit.
There are several ways to make different types of connections. Some are faster than others. I prefer to solder all connections and use heat shrink tubing to insulate and help support the wires at the connection. Only use rosin core solder for electrical connections.
The wiring diagram did not look very good to me. Contact the manufactuer of the components you are using for a correct diagram. If mixing manufactuers components it might get confusing for you. Don't guess get help so you do not have a problem.
