Default Dave@tnt q's?

hello.
i was wondering and i'm sure it's been brought up before.
and i'm not complaining at all.
i run a tnt f1 kit, right now spraying a 100 shot.
stock bottom end. stage two heads, custom cam. every bolton you would normaly see short for rims and a 12 bolt. (come on xmass)
dyno numbers are as follows
n/a 422 rwhp i forgot the tq (dyno sheet is in the car, and i'm lazy)
on the spray 530 rwhp and 583 rwtq

awsome numbers and i am very happy.
now obviously your numbers are taken from at the wheels. meaning a 100 shot is 100 at the wheels. (i read that in a gmhtp artical, thats why i bought your kit)
soooooo where does the extra 8 horse come from?
i know you must make them a bit bigger so every car is different factor.
and everbody will get atleast a 100.
so more so my question is, do you make them like a 125 jet is 100 or something like that and just label it like that?
also do other manufactorors, do similar. i am not familier with nx or pretty much any other kits, aside from the nos 5177. (had one way back)
so to sum it up.
is a 100 shot really a 100 shot? or am i saying to people i am spaying a 100 and really spraying a larger shot.

i really like my kit it hits hard and i got great numbers outta it off just a 100.
thanx for your info.
(i posted this instead of pm cuz i know a few people have the same question)

the tnt kits are underrated its just a baseline shot number, all kits have the 75/100/125/150 etc numbers and they set there jets to make sure that if your getting a 100shot, youll at least get that. enjoy

yes the HP ratings are just general ballpark figures. TNT rates thiers at the wheels...but even still the 100 shot jets generally seem to make between 100-120 rwhp gains. So yours are right in the ballpark. The TNT 75 shot at 150 shot seem to be more correct. The 100 is usually a bit higher than rated.

Others things will affect what actual HP is though...such as cam, bottle pressure, etc.

With your cam and stage 2 heads Id say in your particular case its actually underrated.... As 383 stated most people with heads and cam see around a 120rwhp gain from a TNT or NX wet shot. At lot of the overrated label came about when TNT opened up shop in the early days before they changed the 100 shot jetting to be very close to 100rwhp. With the very first early kits the jetting for a 100 shot gave you MUCH more. In those days it was not uncommon to see a 130-150rwhp gain from the 100 jets.

but to under rate them like that r the jets really sized as 120 jets and they just call it 100 thats my question.

Nitrous ratings are just what they will usually make.. For instance my car on motor make 474rwhp STD ... On Nitrous it makes 821rwhp STD.. ~347rwhp on a 300shot.. With a SAFE.. SAFE tune up..

The ratings on the jets are simply the orifice size. Many other factors determine how much power is made. For instance most people who get considerably more power out of a TNT kit than what it's rated for are running more bottle pressure than TNT intended. TNT's jets are set for 900 psi, if you run 1000 or 1100 you are obviously going to get more nitrous through the jet and in turn more power.
