Default Nitrous cam

What would be a good cam for a Daily Driver 99 WS6 with a 150 wet shot? I am looking for a cam that will put me over 400rwhp N/A.

Thanks,
Justin

Need to have a "little" more info. What mods have you already done? A cam only will not get you to 400, you need supporting items like a CAI, headers, exhaust and a tune. Also with a 99 an LS6 manifold is a good idea, and of course heads!

Any cam will work with a small shot, but for 400rwhp, I would look for something with at least a 224/228 or larger duration (and remember nitrous loves the 4 split or better) and a .580/.590 with .600 being the limit without fly cutting IMHO (more lift on the exhaust is a nitrous plus). Also a 114LSA and higher is prefered on a nitrous car over a lower LSA.
Hope this gets things rolling for you.

www.vincihighperformance.com can help you. They also sell handheld pre programed tuners for your cam choice. If you want to take a little timing out or add a little more fuel THIS IS A VERY SIMPLE TUNING TOOL to do this.

sorry guys.. I should have listed my mods.. I have SLP long tube headers, cut out, lid, and a ls6 intake will be going on as well. I would upgrade the valvetrain as well to go along with the cam. I would like to get a good cam to put me over 400rwhp, but since I already have nitrous, I would obviously like a cam that compliments it as well.

It may be possible to make 400 hp with just a cam change using your stock heads, but you would loose most of your low end torque that is required for the street. What I would choose is a cam that provides decent low end torque and about 380-390 hp with your OEM heads.

I recommend these Cam specs: 224/228 @.050, 112 or 114 overlap, no more than 580 total lift with OEM ports.

If your car has an automatic transmission you will need a higher stall torque convertor also.

I've heard good things about the F13, but your set up strikes up my interest. I have also heard very good things about the T-Rex. And I also notice you are running nitrous. I Pmed you..

Gollum you have no idea what your talking about. A 224 cam wont lose all his" low end driveability"

Where do some of these people get this stuff from? FormulaFire, listen to the guys that have put together hundreds of these cars, with good results. Thunder, Futral F13 etc the middle of the road cams will be fine on moderate shots

You misunderstood me. I recommended a 224/228 cam similar to mine in sig.

And with any cam larger than stock (later closing intake timing and more overlap), you "WILL LOOSE" vacum at idle and some low end torque. But "GAIN" upper rpm torque.
