Brad again you act like a fool

1st setup
Joe ported a set of heads for me and I picked the TR224 and ran 11.38@118
ED WRIGHT TUNE

2nd setup
Cartek APPROACHED ME and built me a S2X and the car ran 11.14@122
CARTEK TUNE

3rd time
DID IT ALL MYSELF
(Cunnigham Machine built shortblock and CM Machine S1 LS6 heads)..ES tuned it but I wasnt happy with the open loop tune so I had Don retune it over the phone in closed loop and it ran 10.89@124....

I learned the hard way if u want it done right do it yourself.

Joe Prince used to be a good guy
We did pretty good back in 2001 as 11.30's wasnt bad

Cartek was okay too until Dave BS me about a bad motor
The 2 dead hole racing crack was at Dave

Decided to get off my lazy *** and do it myself...
Seems I did okay Brad...

The pistons would also probably need to be changed. They aren't designed to absorb the abuse that nitrous emits.

80,000 dollars? Holy ****. You could build an NMRA SS/O car for 80,000. A good roller and 45k could get it done.

Ok, I'm using SAM's car as a reference because it wouldn't need much to be the fastest N2O car that I know of.

Wow, how could I have missed all this fun?

Like Al said, it's a matter of symantics on the definition of "easy". To most, lot's of money isn't an option so that raises the level of easy. To some, the seat time it takes to work out a combo isn't always an option, so that ain't easy.

Money and time. Enough of it makes many things possible.

There was a comment somewhere in my reading here that said the stock bottom end cars going 9s were a budget build with simple setups. I just spewed milk out my nose reading that. Someone care to explain that one?

Picking Judson's car as a candidate for the fastest N2O car is a strange example when the question was - is it easy. Nobody here will doubt the time and energy in that awesome car is more than anyone would call easy. Funny thing is he'd probably be a front runner with a little shot just cause he's so quick to start.

My belief is that those in the LSx world that want to get 8's and beyond are taking F/I as the chosen route. Maybe it's just me but you ever notice the number of really fast cars outside our platform being mountain motors on gas while the small cubes can run the number with F/I.

Now excuse me while I go check the level in my mother bottle

eh, i'm building a 408 on nitrous, 9's isnt going to be 'easy' at all, esp with an M6. As for 8's on a 347, that is NOT easy.

8's on N20 is easier on a 347 than any other method..

Single digits are'nt easy any way even with a big block. Umm driveline upgrades, Umm suspension upgrades, of course tub/mini tub... etc...

The easy way as far as tuning is the most expensive... A full blue blooded stand alone like FAST or AEM EMS should be combined with a closed loop wide band system. Preferably a dual channel (o2 per header).

Then run a dry direct port system and a second bank (8 more) of injectors (staged injection) for nitrous enrich. I seriously could make the power for 8s easy but thats after all the right part$ are purchased and the N20 specific long block as well as the rest of the car is done up right...

So just the one small part is easy....

Bickel what did it cost for your chassis...U can bet by the time you were done building the car I spec'd out it would be in the 60/80K Range after paint,etc......

And it would run at least low 9's

I bought my Firebird as a roller, w/o engine, headers, converter, trans, d/s, diff, etc. for $30,000. BTW, I've replaced all the old stuff like Lexan, tin, etc. and it's now for sale as a roller for $35,000. We have ordered a 2006 Jerry Haas GTO.

I notice most of the people saying it is easy are people with no LS1 or a slower ls1.
no offence to anyone, but run the number, then come back and tell me it is easy.
Im putting a car together right now, we are shooting for 10's with it with a 125 shot. will it do it, i hope, has it been "easy" ? if you call working lots of over time to save the $$ easy, and call working on it till 12-2 am after working 8,10,12 hours at a normal job easy, then yes it is easy.

It's nice you qualified that statement for others to learn from, but still, anybody can say a car "would've" all day.

What's that line... many a slip amongst a cup and lip
