Default Race Gas and Nitrous

I did a search and only a couple old threads came up.

Is there a benefit to this?

I dont have a stand alone fuel cell, I would just mix 2-3 gallaon of 101 in w/ 93.

I've read that NA there isnt much benefit to going w/ race gas.

Any info would be appreciated.

takes longer to burn, less chance of detonation.. so only benifit is less chance of boom on the spray.

Nope. I do this (add a few gallons of 100 unleaded) in the tank when I go to the track. I learned this from my buddy Lou. Was not aware of it 2 years ago, now most local Sunoco stations have it in our area!
I use it for the same reason as InsomZ, just another safety item on the juice. Other then that there is no reason to use it, in fact may actually decrease HP because of the slower burn in a NA car!

I use it as well and yes it decreases NA power. Race gas is just another safety measure to save your motor on the spray.

Race gas will not MAKE you go faster - but it will LET you go faster.

I run 116 on nitrous - if doesn't hurt my N/A times all that much either. Why? I can run a lot more timing, and no denotation. Since switching to 116 I run 28 degree on 150 shot - plan on 26 on a 200 shot. Last year on 104 unleaded I could only run 24 on 150 on 20 on 200.

Just my .02 cents

David

i was thinking of using in on the hose so i could run my n/a tune and not worry about detonation. on stock timing maps and 12.5 a/f ratio my car runs find n/a, so if i don't feel like spraying it (i street race alot) i don't have to worry about my n/a performance being hurt much.

imho if you want to get the MOST out of the spray you should use racegas and do a seperate tune for the racegas and the spray since you can get away with it.

now- if the car is tuned for pumpgas and spray, then the racegas is just a waste of $.
