do i need a window switch im putting a 3000 stall in and all i have is a wide open switch do i need any thing else this is my first nitrous set up thanks
A4's don't have to worry about hitting the rev limiter, so no, you don't need a window switch. I'd like to recommend a bottle heater so you get proper pressure going through the line.
Actually, you do need one unless you're planning on spraying through your shifts and if you do that, your tranny isn't going to last very long unless it's built for it. You should also always spray at least 200 rpm above your torque converter's stall speed. In your case, you shouldn't spray below 3200 rpm.
I have my window switch set so that I start spraying at 3800 rpm and stop spraying at 6100 rpm. I have a 3500 stall speed converter and my shift points are set at 6400 rpm. I guess you could start and stop your spraying via the arming switch, but that would be a royal PITA. With the window switch, you arm your system and forget it.

You are correct its not as easy to mess up with the automatic and no window switch but the chance is still there.
