Default New Engine Now Hear Click Click (Valvetrain noise) VIDEO !!!

Not exactly a nitrous post, but my nitrous will be run as soon as I get this engine broken in and tuned NA. Then we will shoot it will a 100 shot.

I will post a few preview pics of my NItrous set up soon.

Ok Check this out:

Sounds Like Click Click Click, from INSIDE The Cabin. You can hear it best when inside the car.

I videoed it, the under hood video saounds Louder at first than it is because I stuck the camera right into the engine compartment.

It was Never This Loud Before. Anything that sounds like something is wrong or can be fixed?

What do ya think?

Mines pretty loud too, not that loud but pretty damn loud. I always thought I had problems with mine too but realized it was normal.

Again, it is NOT AS LOUD as the video shows. I had the video camera pointed right in the engine bay with the volume on Full, so it Amplified the sound and made it Distort on the video.

It is loud, bu tnothing like you see in the video. You hear at teh end, it gets a little quieter as I move thr camera further away from the engine bay.

UPDATE

The valve train noise under the engine is really not that excesive as appears to SOUND in the video. What I DO HEAR THAT BUGS ME is a TICKING Noise from inside the cabin that is coming from the engine compartment.

Tick,,,,Tick,,,,Tick,,,Tick,,,,,Tick,,,,, You might even describe it as a locomotive in the distance........

Mine was making a similar noise when I swapped the cam. I just went back and re-adjusted the rocker arms to make sure they were square on the valve tip and re-torqued them. The ticking went away.

UPDATE 2

Went to the shop that installed it and they listened to it. The valve noise, as I said, wasn't that bad as in the video, really.

The ticking sound that was bugging me they said is NOT the ValveTrain,
it is the exhaust hitting part of 'something' and it is causing vibration and thus, is making that ticking noise.

They said they probably just need to tighten the center section of my headers/exhaust and all should be fine. I will know for sure next week when Ii bring it in. Then they will also finish my nitorus set up, the blow down tube and the bottle heater noid that turns it off by itself.

I feel relived now

I hope that is wat it is. He sat IN the car and listened for a minute, opened the drivers door and looked under the car and reved slitgly a few times and said that is what it is and the sound will go away when they tighten whatever is loose or whatever is rubbing and/or vibrating against something.

IT IS FIXED!!!!!!!

Believe it or not it was My Skinny Metal Purge Tube!!! It was resting on an injector or something under the fuel rail covers and causing it to amplify this clicking sound inside the car.

They just moved it slightly and the sound is gone and the car runs smooth and quiet with the new 346!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got a new engine and I thought it was Piston Slap from the forged pistons. It was really annoying when your at idle or driving and hear a Ticking Sound.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GLAD IT WAS FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who would have thought a metal purge valve touching as part under the valve covers and vibratiting and amlpifying the sound inside ther cabin

Thank God that one is over. Now it sounds like a car with a bad *** engine

Dynoed 395 RWHP too
