Using Nitrous and rpm's went down?
I am new to this Nitrous game.
I used it for the first time on Sunday. The car was running 12.1/ 12.2 @ 111 in the heat. I set up the Nitrous system and sprayed the car with a 100 shot. The car went 11.42 @ 119 (Picked up 8/10's and 8 mph).I was expecting the car to go UP from my normal shift point of 6500 rpm's, but instead, it seemed to need a gear change at 6000 rpm's. I usually come across the line at 6400- 6500 rpm's , but Sunday it was 6100 rpm's. The second pass went 11.84 when the car ran out of gas.
The car had a 1995 iron headed LT1, carb conversion with a 625 Demon carb. I run a TH350/ 3800 TCI stall on a 4.10 gear and a 28X9 M/T drag slick. I was expecting to have to let off of the Nitrous at 7000 rpm's and came no where close. Running a electric fuel pump to a two sided regulator. Fuel to the carb is set at 6 psi.
Is there too much fuel pressure running to the Nitrous solenoid, or is there too little?
Will the solenoid regulate the fuel pressure if it is too much? I will make some adjustments to the regulator and try again next weekend if the weather holds out.
Thanks, Robert.
