Progress (and a decent picture)!

Sorry its dusty, been doing some woodwork too...

Still working on better switch labeling...also Dean at Dynotune burst my bubble on the opener rocker seems that switch needs to be a threeway rocker. Dean if ya call me I am ready to order that Dynotune Dual Nozzle Dry shot we talked about .

Photo's are Black anodized aluminum plates.

Looks good Beer...yes, the bottle open has to have an open momentary and close momentary. You can also use a 3-way open/close.

Depends, if your running a solenoid type opener, it's on/off, a constant voltage for open, correct (except NOS type)? Now a mech opener, yes a three way toggle/monentary is needed.

Beer, I am glad you changed the line lock button, looks better. Hows the Z06 emblem coming? or did you decide not to do the vette logo thing?

Default Line lock question????????

Beer, I must say I am just floored at the quality of your work. It really looks great. Is something similar or is this exact piece gonna make its way to a vendor?

Now the stupid question...........what is a momentary switch? (I'm assuming that the line lock would work only momentarily) While I was reading about the line lock (which I love) I got lost in the terms and what not! Could some one educate me on what they are and how they work?

It is a switch, button, etc. that doesn't "hold" its position. It "momentarily" open/closes the connection when depressed. Your refrigerator light is a momentary switch...well, at least mine is.

Thanks 00Vette!

Robert I expect to hear from the engravers on the new designs next couple of days. ZO6 logo should not be a problem, let me get some C-5 logo sample plates and then I will move to the ZO6 logo...that should have the panels covered for our body styles .

So correct me if I'm wrong, but I gather from this that you press the "lock" button and it holds the brakes while you do your burnout for a few seconds then depresses automatically???

00Vette the "Lock" is for a line lock, which is a solinoid that you can install near the Master Cylinder. You hit the brakes, hold the button and let off the the brakes. As you hold the the button the front brakes stay "Locked" and the rear wheels are free to do the burnout, Spin the tires to heat them up, then let off the button and the front wheel brakes release and then you stage. I may be off on the order as I have not installed and tried mine out yet. Locks go for about $60 to $250. I just got mine this week and paid about $150 with the fittings and extra lines (have not installed it yet). I can PM links that show how to install them if you like.

Cheers

Yeah........I know that much about them, but what's this talk about the momentary switch thing???? That's what I'm trying to find out about. What is the momentary switch?

Beer, thanks for all your help and PM's with info. The line lock will be a great asset to my next season of racing! And for that little of money, I should get one.............and probably will!

A Momentary Switch is On with button depressed and has a spring return to the Off position. That is all, it's very simple.

AH the switch...
There is a Push on/push off switch, which was in my first mock up. I was thinking why hold it in? Hit the switch (its on) and do your burnout, hit the switch again (its off) to release and stage. Some felt that was unsafe and the Lock should have a momentary press in switch (like the purge), if you want it on you have to hold it in, this means one hand on the wheel and one on the switch.

Personal preference really I think.

Sorry for misunderstanding the question

I understand now.......

That would be awkward holding the button with one hand while holding the wheel with the other hand, but I see the reasoning and I would imagine with a little practice you'd get used to it........

Makes sense to me.........Now!
