Default New to Nitrous

Whats up guys I 'm kind of new to this nitrous stuff so I have a few questions. First I am putting in my dry system Thur. I plan on putting a 100 shot on a pretty much stock 98' TA LS1 any helpfull ideas to get the most bang for my buck? I have a Hyper Tech Chip and Cold Air Intake other than that its Stock. I see a lot of nice switch plates that go over the console hole under the radio any idea where I can get my hands on one? Any help would be greatly app.

Do you have the Hypertech tuner? If so, I wouldn't spray using their motor tune. The timing is usually cranked way up and leaned right out. NX makes a nice switch plate. There are also some pretty nice homemade setups out there.

Don't forget to swap your plugs.

Question

Yea. I called Hyper Tech today and they told me to set the engine tuning back to stock but I could leave shift pionts and firmness in. What about plugs I'm putting new plugs and plug wires in tomorrow NGK TR6 plugs and AC DELCO 8mm wires. Think I ought to gap them around 35? What kind of result should I be looking for when it is all said and done?

Sounds like your on the right track, .035 gap will work well. With a 100 shot you should come close to dropping a solid second off your 1/4 mile times. It's fun at first, but I guarentee that you'll want more.

With a 98 and 26 pound injectors i'd stop at 100 for sure.And yes lose the 'hyper-tech'
tune. It's running to much advance for spray. And as far as gap for a 100 try .038
It'll idle better.

Cool I was some what impressed with the changes that the programer made but I would really love to know what the 1/4 mile time is going to be with it as is with the 100 shot. Do you know anyone that has done this? Do you think I should take the programer off completely? Man what a waste of 400.00 bucks that would be.

Actually 98s got the largest injectors of all four years. They are 28.8. 99-00s got the smallest, they are like 26.4 or 26.6. Mine where good for a 125 shot.

You can use the programers other features, just unistall the motor tune.

FWIW, 97/98 vettes had the 28lb'ers also, then 99/00 had the 26lber's, then '01 and on went back to 28lber's. GM is like the 3-Stooges of auto makers, sometimes.

As soon as I get all of this done I post some more details. I'll try to see if I can put some photos out there of me eatting away at the Good Years being that it prob. will not hook up very good. I'm not looking for the 11's I would just like to keep that stock look and still be able to pull up to some kid in his daddys mustang leave him explaining to his friend what just happened.

Hey guys,
We started cutting the tips off the standard dry nozzle a while back. This worked great going in the tip of the filter. However it still did not hit me exactly the way I like things. So I have came up with a new product for you dry guys that is going to knock your socks off... You can expect to see these systems and parts hitting the market by the end of the month..
