as I'm browsing this post, im staring at my last broken pinion gear sitting next to my optical mouse and thinking. "Hmm.....I have not been pushed either direction by robert except for him hammering on me about his biased opinion on the Dry kits", but later i found out why. He can help me make my dry kit work well, because he has alot of experience and knowledge in that area, but not brand specific IMHO. If the dry kit didnt work, I wouldn't be here staring at my broken pinion gear. I often look at the ring gears and study the pattern trying to figure out what went wrong but TORQUE seems to always be the culprit.
Honestly I have no idea what a MOD does, but Robert has been both short and very helpful to me, but he has only been short with me when i was short with him, on his behalf.
Everyone has different experience and knowledge levels. As a civilian automotive dealer tech I can relate when shadetree rednecks think they know everything and that pisses me off. First car comes in, (the owner had a buddy replace about 500$ worth of parts that a buddy 'mechanic' said it needed) problem still there. Turns out to be a dirty weak pin fitment at the pdc because the owner added a 4ga wire for the stereo which stressed the connector, or a pinched wire where the owner added a neon light. Yeah sure its all warranty right? wrong! you see, All professionals get some aggrivation at some point. Give Robert some credit, He has been there and done that. He is willing to share some input to me as a customer.
I did not see any bias towards nitrous direct and I currently am shopping for a wet single or dual nitous kit

I don't thinkl you meant to say that. He reps/sells/supports Nitrous Direct..of course he's biased. He does not, has not and will not (as far as I can tell) have any reason not to be biased. The question boils down to should Robert work for Nitrous Direct and Moderate this forum. Not how helpful he is or isn't. He has always been quite helpful. Eventually selling dilutes credibility...

ummm...i guess ill throw in two cents...does the nitrous section need a mod? does it get out of control?

anyways. mod or not robert has been helpful. you have alot of guys out there pushing wet kits, espel. nx wet kits. robert pushes dry kits just as hard.

i dont know if he mods this section at all or too much. but why give up mods b/c he pushes the product he likes?

everyone is bias one way or another...either the n2o section will get someone that hates n2o all together. or the guy that likes it will either like wet or dry.

and if he pushes his company too much, i think the other company's should push more. its their fault for laying down on the job.

You're one of the better moderators here. It would be a shame to see you go. Good people get screwed and the ******** seem to enjoy it. Everytime I see this happen, it makes me less interested in being here. So you've had great results with their products ... OF COURSE you're going to praise them ...who wouldn't? Keep on moderating brother. I think these poll results say it all.

Spanky I don't think there is a lack of effort by any of the nitrous vendors here, haha. Some people just see this as a conflict of interest, and I'll admit I was one of them but Robert has done an acceptable job so far so I don't think there is a valid reason for him to give up his mod status for the time being.

Look at these poll results. Run a poll on ANY moderator on here and it's not going to get better results simply because there are some who just hate moderators for whatever reason. A good example is Unit ... drives a KB Cobra and 'stirs the pot' regularly ... probably one of the most disliked guys on here by a lot of people he's pissed off (including me) ... BUT he's dedicated to this forum and he's very helpful to people. I don't like the guy, though I do have great respect for him and would not want to see him lose moderator status, as well.

Take JRP ... too many people don't like him just because he's the best and they're not. Booting Robert's moderator status is a direct blow to free speech and anyone who tries to get his status taken away should go live in communist North Korea.

Leave the F***ing guy alone.

Furthermore, I also feel I give more input towards non NItrous Direct threads/replys in the form of tech for all brands and kits. If I don't, you can set me straight and no ill feelings will be had. I don't want to give up my modship, but if that's what is best for the site I will. Also, I truly enjoy helping others when/if I can, and that will not change whether I am a mod or not. Thanks

I don't think anyone is reading the original question anymore...just the responses. Now they are getting angry and philosophical. LOL.

He's obviously asking for a reason ... am I misunderstanding Robert's question? I'm not being sarcastic. I just don't understand your answer as it relates to Robert's question.

OK ... now I see ... it's members who are feeling biased ... not other moderators or Admin's ... got it. Oh well, I guess most anyone would be somewhat biased when they have had good experiences with someone's products over time.

Keep on Truckin' 'Robert. I think you've been very helpful to most 'noobs to the bottle'. Thanks for the help you've given me about Nitrous.

Robert has helped me on many instances not having anything to do with nitrous and when that subject came up never once was Nitrous Direct mentioned. I do not think there is a problem with him being affiliated with them. Now if he had a relationship with NOS and was pimping them, then there would be a conflict of interest as a Mod. This is my $0.02 on the matter.

I'll chime in once again. I see a lot of moderators pushing what works for them. I don't see Robert being any different. Many, MANY folks on LS1Tech push favoritism of Cobra's/Mustangs. If they have LS1 motor experience and enjot being here and helping people, does that mean they should not moderate?

Lock it up and let this die off...
Its a constant reminder of board politics.
The keep it has it.

Lets put the tech back into LS1TECH in lieu of LS1POLITICS.

My 2cents.

No over step, I have been thinking about shutting it down for a few days.
Thanks for the support everyone, and opinions.
